EACH MEDIATION IS CUSTOMIZED FOR THE CASE AND PARTIES
A one-size-fits-all approach does not work. Each case requires unique preparation and understanding. Mr. Dormer prepares extensively for every mediation to make sure that the session will meet the needs of the parties and to maximize the possibility of settlement. A successful mediation needs both keen legal insight gained from years of litigation experience and cannot be scripted.
RESPECT FOR THE LAW AND LAWYERS
A mediator’s job is to create an environment in which the lawyers can do their best for their clients. As a mediator, Mr. Dormer respects the lawyers and gives them the opportunity to shine. He focuses on ensuring that each side understands the arguments of the other side, including the strengths and weaknesses of the case. With that information everyone can work together to try and achieve an agreeable resolution.
PERSEVERANCE
Sometimes cases don’t get settled at the mediation hearing. The parties might need some additional time to evaluate the case or work out details before a settlement can be reached. Should the case not settle at mediation, Mr. Dormer remains in contact with the parties to see if a resolution can be obtained after the hearing.
